Sewanee, with its strong liberal arts curriculum, provides a rich environment for the student of acting at the college level. Recent Sewanee graduates are successfully pursuing acting careers in theatre, film, and television in New York, Hollywood, Chicago, Austin, and elsewhere.
Theatre majors with a serious interest in acting have the possibility of furthering their study in New York or London. These programs allow students to study acting and receive Sewanee course credit, either for a semester (four course credit) or the summer (two course credit).
The basic acting classes are open to all students with the permission of the instructor. Additional acting classes allow advanced students to continue their study while exploring other theatre or liberal arts disciplines. For further information on acting at Sewanee, contact Professor David Landon.
